Here’s a rundown of all the gear I use as a content creator that keeps me getting things done efficiently.
I mainly stick with Canon cameras and lenses, but I mix in some gear from other brands based on what I'm working on.
Hope this list helps spark some ideas for your own gear choices!
The gear I use
Canon EOS R
This is my primary camera, and tit handles every type of content perfectly - photos, videos, long-form projects, and short-form content.
Canon 16mm f/2.8
My preferred lens for street photography. It's excellent for night-long exposures in small, tight spaces.
Canon 24-240mm f/4-6.3mm
The do-it-all lens. I carry it with me all the time as it’s pretty versatile.
Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4
Although I don't use it often, I truly enjoy it whenever I do. It is a bit heavy, but it creates beautiful art portraits and nature shots.
Insta 360 x5
It lets me capture moments in every direction at once. It’s creative, fun, and gives me so much freedom to tell a story about how the photo happened.
Osprey Daylite Duffel 30L
Lightweight, versatile, and just easy to live with. It works as a duffel, backpack, or over-the-shoulder bag, allowing me to adapt on the go. Whether I’m carrying gear, clothes, or a mix of both, it keeps things simple and organised without feeling bulky.
Urth ND2-400 Variable ND Lens Filters
Excellent lens filter that provides greater creative control in varying light conditions and allows for long exposure shots during the day.
Gomatic/Nomatic x Peter McKinnon Sling 9L
Compact sling that still fits all the essentials, perfect for taking city shots. Practical, sleek, and ready for everyday use. Make carrying gear effortless.
Urth Star Lens Filter Kit
I mainly use it for street photography, especially at night, to create a range of starburst effects.
Gomatic/Nomatic x Peter McKinnon Backpack 18L
Perfect mix of compact and functional. It keeps my camera gear safe and organised while still leaving space for everyday essentials.
K&F Concept Travel Tripod
Lightweight and compact one! I should have switched to it earlier!
